- Total revenue, 1975 through end of Fiscal Year (FY) 2007: more than $7.713 billion.
- Total prizes won by players of traditional games, 1975 through end of FY 2007: more than $1.740 billion.
By law, Delaware Lottery generates income for the state's General Fund. The General Fund is a pool of money that finances a wide variety of state services. The amount of money that the Lottery contributes annually to the General Fund has risen for more than 20 years.
- Revenue generated for General Fund since 1975: more than $2.8 billion.
- Revenue generated for General Fund for FY ending June 2007: $256.7 million.
Legacy
- Law establishing the Delaware State Lottery was signed on May 31, 1974.
- First Lottery games introduced in 1975.
- First daily numbers game, PLAY 3, introduced in 1978; LOTTO game added in 1983.
- Teamed up with other states to introduce the multistate POWERBALL® game in 1992.
- Video Lottery machines introduced at three racetracks in 1995 and 1996.
