“I pass it everyday, but never played there and something told me I should stop,” she said. “This was the first time I also played POWER PLAY, but something also told me to do it and I’m glad I listened to my gut twice!”

(Dover, Del.) — A 50-year-old married man and father of one from Cecil County, MD, was able to cash in on DELAWARE CASH 5®, winning $60,000 in the April 6 drawing. A regular Lottery player, the man told Delaware Lottery officials that he has been playing the Lottery for quite some time now.

“I began playing years ago in Maryland, when the jackpots started getting high,” he said.

Using the Quick Pick option, the lucky man purchased his winning DELAWARE CASH 5® ticket the previous day (April 5) at the Glasgow CITGO in Newark, DE.

“I usually purchase 10 tickets total, two tickets each for POWERBALL® MEGA MILLIONS®, HOT LOTTO®,” MULTI-WIN LOTTO AND DELAWARE CASH 5®,” he said.

Excited about his newfound fortune, the man told Lottery officials, “I won a thousand bucks once, but this was the first big win!” he said.

Checking his ticket numbers online at delottery.com, the man was in disbelief when he saw his ticket numbers were the winning numbers for DELAWARE CASH 5®.

Laughing, he said, “I had to wake up my wife to make sure they were the winning numbers!”

So far, his wife is the only person the fortunate man has told about the win. His wife joined him at Lottery headquarters in Dover on April 26 to claim the $60,000 prize.

When asked what the couple would do with the winnings, his wife spoke up and said, “A long overdue vacation! That’s all we have in mind right now.”
