POWERBALL® JACKPOT CLIMBS TO $130 MILLION NOV. 29 DRAWING WHILE DELAWARE LOTTERY LOOKS FOR PLAYER TO CLAIM $100,000 PRIZE

DOVER, DE - According to Delaware Lottery officials, the POWERBALL® jackpot for Wednesday, November 29, has an estimated annuity value of $130 million and is the fifth largest jackpot offered since the start of the POWERBALL® game in 1992. It is also the seventh largest jackpot ever offered in the history of U.S. lotteries. Wednesday's jackpot has an estimated lump sum cash value of $70 million.

"We're very pleased to announce such a large POWERBALL® jackpot, especially during the holiday season. It's very exciting, but we also want to urge players to only purchase as many $1 tickets as they can afford." said Delaware Lottery Director Wayne Lemons.

To date, Delaware Lottery players have won POWERBALL® jackpots on three occassions. Jackpots include the September 18, 1993, $16.8 million jackpot won by a Laurel, Delaware man; the October 25, 1995, $28.8 million jackpot won on a single ticket by a group of ten players; and the March 27, 1997, $53 million jackpot won by a man from Wilmington, Delaware who shared the prize money with his fiancÈe.

As of Nov. 25, 2000, the POWERBALL® jackpot had been hit 120 times by 137 winners, including 17 shared wins, and has paid out jackpot prizes (both annuity and lump sum cash) totaling $3,611,713,351.

For the Wednesday, Nov. 22 drawing, one unclaimed POWERBALL® ticket worth a $100,000 prize was sold at Yetters Liquors in Claymont. The winning numbers for the drawing were 05, 18, 40, 44 and 47 for the white numbers, and 34 for the red POWERBALL® number.
