WINNER CLAIMS $315,000 ALL CASH LOTTO JACKKPOT WITH TICKET BOUGHT AT DOVER PACKAGE STORE

DOVER, DE - A 69-year-old man from Florida claimed the August 6, 2001 All Cash Lotto jackpot prize of $315,000 yesterday afternoon (August 9) at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover. The winner, an East Coast potato contractor, wishes to remain anonymous.  He was awarded $228,375, which represents the $315,000 prize minus $86,625 for federal tax.

The winning ticket contained numbers he selected himself when he purchased it on the day of the drawing at Eastside Package in Dover. "I play Lottery games in every state I travel to and I always pick my own numbers," the winner explained.  "There's no method to it, I just pick whatever numbers come into my head that day."

He learned his ticket was the winner when he checked the winning numbers the day after the drawing.  "I've won playing the Delaware Lottery several times before, but I have never won a prize of this amount," the man said.  "I'm very excited about my big win and I can't wait to come back and play again."     He has no immediate plans for his prize money.

The All Cash Lotto jackpot for Friday, August 10, 2001 has an all-cash value of $160,000.  Tickets for All Cash Lotto cost $1 and are available at all Delaware Lottery On-Line Retailers.
