LOTTO JACKPOT TOPS $1 MILLION

DOVER, DE -According to Delaware Lottery Officials, the LOTTO jackpot for Friday, April 5, 2002, has an all cash value of $1,026,000. Delaware Lottery records indicate this is the first LOTTO jackpot to reach more than $1 million dollars since November 23, 1999.

"Last November, we re-designed the LOTTO game to include a higher starting jackpot," said Brian Peters, Deputy Director Sales and Marketing. "We expect to continue to see 'bigger and better' LOTTO jackpots to increase excitement for players and raise interest among potential players. I also want to urge players to play responsibly. It only takes one ticket to be a big winner."

Delaware Lottery records indicate that three Delaware Lottery players won $500 prizes for matching 5 of 6 winning numbers and 261 players won $25 for matching 4 of 6 winning numbers in last night's drawing (April 3). Winning numbers for the drawing were 03, 12, 13, 22, 25 and 26.

Since the LOTTO game started in 1983, there have been 215 LOTTO jackpot winners with prizes totaling $94,978,915. As of April 4, one $258,000 LOTTO jackpot prize remains unclaimed for the May 12, 2001, LOTTO drawing. The winning numbers were 03, 05, 10, 23, 28 and 33. The ticket was sold at Shore Stop #233 on Lebanon Road in Dover.

LOTTO tickets are available at more than 400 Delaware Lottery Retailers throughout
the state.
