12/25 POWERBALL® JACKPOT NOW WORTH $280 MILLION

DOVER, DE -- The POWERBALL® jackpot for Wednesday, December 25-with an estimated annuity value of $280 million and an estimated cash lump sum value of $151.4 million-could make someone's holiday a lot brighter.

However, Delaware Lottery officials urge players not to spend more than they can afford on the $1 tickets for Wednesday's drawing. "Play responsibly," Wayne Lemons, Delaware Lottery Director, said. "I want to remind everyone that you only need one ticket to be a big winner."

Lemons also reminded players that help is available for those tempted by the big jackpot. "If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call the Delaware Gambling Helpline at 1-888-850-8888," he said.

For the Saturday, December 21, 2002 drawing, Delaware Lottery records indicate that there were 4 winners of $5,000 prizes, 262 winners of $100 prizes (4 of whom won $500 with Power Play®), 7,736 winners of $7 prizes (94 won $35 with Power Play®), 12,088 winners of $4 prizes (158 won $20 with Power Play®) and 21,519 winners of $3 prizes (279 won $15 with Power Play®).

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more
than $1.4 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that
benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®,
LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games. More information is available at
