DOVER MAN WINS $100,000 POWERBALL® PRIZE FROM MAY 5 DRAWING

DOVER, DE -- A Dover man claimed a $100,000 POWERBALL® prize from the Wednesday, May 5 drawing. His winning ticket matched all five white numbers except the red POWERBALL® number. The white numbers he matched on his ticket to win are 01, 10, 34, 39 and 47. There was no jackpot winner for the May 5 drawing. The red POWERBALL® number was 33.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, was awarded a check for $75,000, which represents the $100,000 prize minus $25,000 for federal taxes.

He purchased his POWERBALL® ticket at US Gas & Lucky 7 located on Route 13 in Dover. He found out that he had won when he checked the winning numbers on the Lottery web site, delottery.com. "I didn't believe it!" he exclaimed. He told lottery officials that he plans to use the prize money toward the purchase of a new house

A group has contacted the Lottery Office to announce that they have the winning ticket for the $100,000 prize from the Saturday, May 8 POWERBALL® drawing. A claim has not yet been filed. The winning ticket was purchased at C.B. Perkins located in the Christiana Mall in Christiana. The POWERBALL® numbers drawn on May 8, 2004 are 03, 09, 17, 37, 43; and 39 for the red POWERBALL® number.
