DELAWARE LOTTERY AWARDS NEARLY $2.5 MILLION TO POWERBALL® TICKET HOLDERS IN FEBRUARY --
10x Power Play Multiplier Could Exceed that in March

Dover, DE -- The recent record POWERBALL jackpot may not have resulted in a top-prize win in Delaware, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a winning month for local players. In the nine drawings from February 1 through the March 1 drawing, Delaware winners earned $2,446,355, including one $800,000 winner and one $200,000. In addition, there were a whopping 21 winners who took home at least $10,000.

"It was a great month to play POWERBALL in Delaware," said Delaware Lottery Director Wayne Lemons. "The growing jackpots have continued in increase interest in the game and Delaware is a great example that you don't need to hit the jackpot to be a winner."

The winners were made up of a diverse group with individuals, families and several office pools claiming prizes in February.

The Delaware Lottery is looking to make March an even better month with a special limited-time Power Play 10-times multiplier possibility. The Power Play option costs $1 per POWERBALL entry and typically multiplies a non-jackpot winning amount by two, three, four or five. The number is chosen through a random spin of a wheel. For the month of March, a multiplier of 10 has been added to Power Play wheel. It can hit 10 as many times possible until the March 29 drawing and if it doesn't hit, the promotion will carry over until it does.

The $800,000 winner from March was a Power Play winner. He initially won $200,000, but when the Power Play multiplier registered at four, his prize was quadrupled.

"This month your money goes farther," Mr. Lemons added. "A $200,000 winner could now become a $2 million winner and a $10,000 winner becomes a $100,000 winner, and so on. Those are significant winnings, even if one doesn't score the jackpot."

The current POWERBALL jackpot is $75 million and, as always, Mr. Lemons urges everyone to play responsibly. Included in all Lottery printed and promotional material is a play responsibly message: If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call the Delaware Gambling Helpline at 1-888-850-8888.
