New Jersey Woman Wins $200,000 from the August 2 POWERBALL® Drawing

Dover, DE -- An Oaklyn, N.J., woman has claimed a $200,000 POWERBALL prize from the August 2 by matching five white balls. And it is all thanks to a fortuitous red light.

The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, received the ticket as a gift from her son, who works in Delaware. He was driving on his lunch break on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont, when he came across a traffic light.

"He said to himself, 'If I don't make the light, I'll pull into that 7-Eleven for a quick bite and get the ticket. If not, I'll go somewhere else,'" she said. "Thank God the light turned red!"

The woman, who has been working at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center for 31 years, is a regular player, but this is her first big win. She added that this money will allow her to retire a little early and travel.

The woman received $150,000 after federal taxes were deducted.
