DELAWARE LOTTERY SELLS OUT RAFFLE GAME
One ticket holder has already won $250,000 cash top prize

Dover, DE -- The Delaware Lottery today announced it sold all 100,000 tickets allotted for the second installment of its DELAWARE RAFFLE game. The last available $10 ticket for the game sold at 4:41 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007. While one lucky ticket holder was guaranteed a $250,000 grand prize regardless of how many tickets were sold, the excitement leading up to the New Year's Eve drawing increased as the window of opportunity closed.

The winning Raffle numbers were drawn Dec. 31 at the Delaware Lottery headquarters in Dover. One ticket was sold on November 23, 2007, holding the number of 0027399, which matches the Grand Prize-winning number drawn on New Year's Eve. The ticket was sold at the Super G supermarket located in Middletown Two-hundred-fifty-five additional Raffle tickets were sold with winning numbers for prizes ranging from $25 to $25,000. All 256 winning numbers are posted on www.delottery.com.

During the sales periods for both the 2006 and 2007 Raffle games, approximately 25,000 tickets were still available just one week prior to the sell-out. The quickened selling rate during the last few days of the 2007 Raffle demonstrated that the game's appeal continued the second time around. The attraction for Delaware Lottery players came from the game's excellent odds of winning the $250,000 top prize, and the guarantee that it would be awarded to one ticket holder.

"For the second year in a row, these were the best odds of winning a quarter million dollars from a single $10 Delaware Lottery ticket. We're also excited to help 255 other Delaware Lottery players ring in a happy New Year with cash prizes from the Delaware Raffle," said Wayne Lemons, Delaware Lottery Director.

Director Lemons said the rate of sales increased greatly over the last few weeks leading up to year's end and that Lottery retailers reported strong sales for all Delaware Lottery ticket games. Many retailers reported their customers were purchasing the tickets as holiday gifts and stocking stuffers for friends, family and co-workers prior to December 25 and returning to make sure they had their own chance at winning the Delaware Raffle.

"The Raffle has been well received by our players and the holiday season produced a significant boost in sales," Lemons added.
