LOTTERY AWARDS SECOND-CHANCE HOT LOTTO WINNERS
Five lucky "non-winners" take home a total of $10,000 in cash

Dover, DE -- The Delaware Lottery announced today that five lucky HOT LOTTO® players have come forward to claim their second-chance drawing prizes. From Sept. 15 to Oct. 31 players who submitted their non-winning HOT LOTTO® and HOT LOTTO® Sizzler® tickets to the Delaware Lottery were entered in a drawing for a chance to win a total of $10,000 cash in prizes.

Prizes were awarded to the following players:

  • $5,000 Grand Prize - Candy T. of Delmar
  • $2,500 First Prize - Jerry Q. of Longneck
  • $1,500 Second Prize - Charles W. of Dover
  • $500 Third Prize - Mih A. of Seaford
  • $500 Third Prize - Valery D. of Wilmington

"We hope this promotion gave more Delawareans a taste of HOT LOTTO® and we're sure they've enjoyed the experience," said Wayne Lemons, Delaware Lottery Director. "With the holiday season right around the corner we'd like to remind players that Delaware Lottery tickets always make a wonderful stocking stuffer."

While similar to Powerball® and Multi-Win Lotto, HOT LOTTO® players select five white ball numbers from 1 to 39 and one orange Hot Ball number from 1 to 19. A $1 Sizzler® option (like the Powerball® Power Play) gives gamers a chance to automatically triple lower-tier prizes.

Odds of winning the HOT LOTTO® jackpot are one in nearly 11 million, while the odds of winning the top Powerball® prize are one in 146 million. Drawings for the multi-state game are held twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Players can purchase a multi-draw ticket for up to 10 draws at a time. Jackpots begin at an estimated annuity of $1 million and increase by at least $50,000 per drawing until a winning number is drawn. Additional information about this HOT LOTTO® promotional campaign and other Lottery games can is available at www.delottery.com.

The Delaware Lottery reminds players that prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing.

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $2.8 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, HOT LOTTO®, MULTI-WIN LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
