Delaware Lottery Officials Say With Cash Option, Winner To Split
A Third of $50 Million

Dover, DE - June 21, 2013 - Almost a month to the date of what can be considered a memorable Memorial Day Weekend POWERBALL® jackpot drawing, the Delaware Lottery is pleased to announce that a winner has come forward to claim their share of the $50 million estimated annuity jackpot prize from one of three winning tickets drawn May 25, one of which was sold at the Super G supermarket in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

The Delaware Lottery awarded a Delaware resident a lump sum total of $10,377,750.10 today after they chose the cash option to claim one-third of the jackpot prize. The lucky Delaware resident, who is choosing to remain anonymous, is one of three ticket holders from the May 25 POWERBALL drawing to match all six numbers correctly. The winning numbers drawn May 25 were 2, 6, 19, 21, and 27 with a POWERBALL of 25. The additional two winning tickets were sold in Florida and Louisiana and the winners have not yet come forward.

“In Delaware, winner privacy is our policy,” said Delaware Lottery Director Vernon Kirk. “Although we cannot reveal the winner’s identity, we are pleased to share in the luck of being able to award yet another big jackpot prize, making this individual the ninth jackpot winner overall in the First State.”

Delaware is currently one of six states that allow winners to remain anonymous and will not reveal a winner’s personal information for promotional purposes without their consent.
