Seaford Woman Wins $150,000
In the Delaware Lottery's “Big Money” Instant Game

(Dover, DE) A 56-year-old woman from Seaford, Delaware, achieved her biggest lottery win to date—$150,000 in the Delaware Lottery’s “Big Money” Instant Game. She bought the winning ticket from Delux Dairy Market in Seaford.

The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, recalled her reaction upon scratching off the ticket in the store. “I was shaking like a leaf—I was in complete shock that I won,” she said. “Once I realized that I actually won, I called my family to let them know.”

The woman, who has worked for the state for 35 years, redeemed the winning ticket on August 18 at Lottery headquarters, filling the lobby with her family. Still in shock from her win, she told Lottery Officials that she plans to put the money towards retirement.

She described her winning as a blessing, coming at a time in her life when she needed it most. “Not many of us get chances like this,” she explained. “I am truly grateful to have won.”
