As Summer Temperatures Climb, POWERBALL® Jackpot Soars to $390 Million

The Delaware Lottery Encourages the Community to Play Responsibly

(DOVER, DE) — This Saturday, July 23, POWERBALL® players will have an opportunity to win the eighth-largest jackpot in the game’s history, according to Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) officials. The new POWERBALL® estimated annuity jackpot of $390 million was reached after the Wednesday, July 20 drawing, which was the 21st drawing with no jackpot winner.

With summer temperatures heating up for the weekend, Saturday’s $390 million jackpot drawing could offer a single winner a cash payout of $270.5 million. The Delaware Lottery joins lotteries across the country in encouraging people to play responsibly.

“If everyone plays within their means and spends only what they can reasonably afford, this can be a fun experience with powerful outcomes for everyone.” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “The Lottery’s mission is to maximize revenue for vital programs in the state of Delaware, and jackpots like these help us achieve this.”

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were 6, 25, 35, 58 and 66. The POWERBALL® number was 5, and the Power Play® number was 2. Although the jackpot remains, more than 1 million players have won more than $9.5 million in cash prizes. The overall odds of winning any POWERBALL® prize are more than 292 million to 1.

Tickets sell for $2 per game; the Power Play® option POWERBALL® costs $1 per game.
