45 Wilmington Co-workers Split $50,000 POWERBALL® Win
(DOVER, DE) — Good news travels fast, especially when 45 coworkers have a big reason to celebrate winning $50,000 in the June 7 POWERBALL® drawing. Two women representing the group of winners claimed their prize from Lottery officials on Tuesday, June 13, after correctly matching four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the POWERBALL®. The group purchased 113 tickets — including the winning ticket — from PW Fuels at 4015 Governor Printz Blvd. in Wilmington, Delaware.
“We usually go in on POWERBALL® and MEGA MILLIONS® when the jackpots get really high,” said one of the women. “This is probably only the second or third time we have all played this year, but now that we actually have won, even more people want to get in on the games!”
“We are planning to distribute the winnings between the 45 people,” said another woman. “People are already planning how they are going to use their winnings, from buying a new stove to using the extra money for vacations.”
Before the women left, one added, “That was a lot fun, and we hope to be back at Delaware Lottery Headquarters soon.”
The winning numbers from the June 7 drawing were 05, 21, 57, 66 and 69. The POWERBALL® number was 13, and the Power Play number was 3x.
