Excitement Builds as POWERBALL® Jackpot Soars to $535 Million for Saturday’s Drawing

(DOVER, Del.) — The POWERBALL® jackpot has climbed to an estimated $535 million, making it the fifth-largest in game history. This is the first time that the POWERBALL® jackpot is above $500 million since the world-record jackpot of $1.568 billion in Jan. 2016. Since no one matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing, the national lottery game continues to roll ahead, pushing the jackpot prize even higher. The Delaware Lottery is joining other lotteries across the county in reminding customers to play responsibly.

“A prize of this magnitude is life-changing for the winner, and is creating an exciting buzz throughout the state,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “We are thrilled that the POWERBALL® continues to climb, but no matter the jackpot size, we always remind our players about responsible play—it’s important for consumers to know when to take breaks, not to spend beyond their means and, most importantly, to have fun.”

Saturday’s drawing could offer a single winner a cash payout of an impressive $340.1 million. According to Multi-State Lottery Association Officials, this is the 20th drawing since the POWERBALL® was last hit, on June 10 in California. In 2017, there have been four jackpot wins.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were 9, 15, 43, 60 and 64. The POWERBALL® number was 04, and the Power Play® number was 3x. POWERBALL® tickets sell for $2 per game; the Power Play® option POWERBALL® costs $3 per game.
