New Jersey Man Already Planning Disney Trip After Winning $10,000 in the Delaware Lottery’s Instant Game $250,000 Cash

(DOVER, Del.) — Christopher Newsome, a 41-year-old resident of Vineland, New Jersey, has an 8-year-old daughter who is eager to visit the “most magical place on earth.” Now her dream of going to Disney World will become a reality since Newsome won $10,000 in the Delaware Lottery’s $250,000 Cash Instant Game.

Newsome, a plant operator who likes to play the Lottery just for fun, was with his brother at Tobacco Express in New Castle, Delaware, where he purchased a few tickets. Newsome immediately won $100 on the first ticket, and then cashed in his winnings for one more Instant Game ticket. To his surprise, he won $10,000.

“He handed me the ticket and said, ‘Tell me what that says,’” Newsome’s brother said. “I shouted, ‘$10,000! I probably shouldn’t have been yelling that in the parking lot—but I was just so excited for him!”

Newsome’s brother joined him at Lottery Headquarters to claim his prize on Thursday, November 2.

Newsome is an occasional Lottery player, who likes to play Instant Games and draw games when jackpots are high. While the news is still sinking in, he told Lottery officials he plans to use some of his winnings for a vacation with his daughter to Disney World.

“I’ve always said, ‘You can’t win if you don’t play,’” Newsome added.
