Christmas Came Early For Wilmington Father And His Children, Thanks To A $350,008 Win In The Delaware Lottery’s MULTI-WIN LOTTO

(DOVER, Del.) — It will be a very merry Christmas for a Wilmington, Delaware, man who kicked off the holiday season by winning $350,008 in the Delaware Lottery’s MULTI-WIN LOTTO. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket on Dec. 2 at the 7-Eleven on South Maryland Avenue in Wilmington, two days before the drawing.

A welder-assembler, the man said for nine years he has commuted to West Chester, Pennsylvania, for work. When he has some extra pocket money, he stops for an iced tea and “a Lottery ticket or two” on his way home. “It gives me something to look forward to,” the man said. “This time it did much more than that!”

The man, who’s played various Lottery games for 27 years, discovered that he’d won $350,008 when he checked his numbers online the day after the drawing. He said he picked his own numbers for MULTI-WIN LOTTO, at random.

“I was shocked—I didn’t believe it,” said the man, a father of a teenaged son and daughter. “After it sunk in, I called my brother. He’s still the only other person that knows about this. He’s happy for me. And I am looking forward to a happy Christmas for my children and me.”

The man claimed his prize—his largest win to date—at Lottery Headquarters on Dec. 21. He told Lottery officials that while he plans to use a little bit to make Christmas special, he’ll “be smart” with the rest of it.

“My son will be going to college next year, and needs a car,” the winner said. “Beyond that, I’m already looking into making some smart property investments so that my money can make money!”
