POWERBALL® and MEGA MILLIONS® Jackpots Combine to Make $690M

The Delaware Lottery Encourages the Community to Play Responsibly

(DOVER, Del.) — The thrill is building across the nation as players now have two ways to win more than $300 million this weekend, according to Multi-State Lottery Association officials. This is the second time in Lottery history that both multistate jackpots have simultaneously surpassed the $300 million mark. With both jackpots offering an impressive cash payout of $430.8 million, the Delaware Lottery joins other lotteries across the country in encouraging people to play responsibly.

“There are only two big drawings left in 2017, which means there’s still time to ring in the New Year as a winner,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “While we encourage our players to have fun, we also want to remind them of the importance of playing responsibly and spending within their means.”

The new POWERBALL® jackpot of $384 million was reached after the Wednesday, Dec. 27 drawing, marking the 18th drawing with no jackpot winner, and is the fourth time this year that the POWERBALL® jackpot has topped $350 million. The jackpot offers a single player a $239.7 million cash value.

Friday’s $306 MEGA MILLIONS® jackpot is the 20th roll in the current draw cycle, which started on Oct. 13. The jackpot offers a single player a cash option of $191.1 million. In the last drawing on Dec. 26., there were more than 732,000 winning tickets, including one $1 million Match 5 winner sold in Washington.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were 03, 09, 16, 56 and 60. The POWERBALL® number was 03 and the Power Play® number was 3x. POWERBALL® tickets sell for $2 per game; the Power Play® option costs an additional $1 per game.

In addition, the winning numbers from Tuesday’s MEGA MILLIONS® drawing were 10, 12, 20, 38 and 41. The Mega Ball was 25 and the Megaplier was 4x. MEGA MILLIONS® tickets sell for $2 per game; the Megaplier option costs an additional $1 per game.
