A Payday Tradition Pays Big for One Delaware Woman

(DOVER, Del.) — After getting off her long night shift as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Mary Crompton stopped at Royal Farms on Pulaski Hwy. in Bear, Delaware, where she purchased a winning MONEY MATCH Instant Game ticket.

For three years, Crompton and a work friend have been buying one or two Instant Game tickets on pay day. What’s become a tradition for both, really paid off for the 59-year-old, when she made a solo, Friday morning trip.

“I won some cash on my first MONEY MATCH ticket,” she said, adding, “So I purchased one more of the same ticket with the winnings.” Little did she know; the second MONEY MATCH Instant Game ticket would win her $100,000.

It was only fitting that she immediately called her friend to double check the ticket. Once confirmed, the two wasted no time and headed straight to claim the $100,000 top prize.

“I haven’t slept yet,” she said about her big win. “I’m too excited.”

When asked if they would keep the tradition going, Crompton said, “Oh yes, sometimes lightning does strike twice.”

The woman claimed her prize at Lottery Headquarters on April 13, 2018, and joked, “I need to get some rest before work tonight!”
