Wilmington woman wins $25,000 a year for life playing LUCKY FOR LIFE®

Dover, DE — A 72-year-old retired woman from Wilmington has won $25,000 a year for life after matching five numbers in the December 3, 2022 LUCKY FOR LIFE® drawing. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from her local Acme #2682 along Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington.

“It’s great to see LUCKY FOR LIFE® continue to be such a source of excitement for Draw Game players,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to this lucky $25,000 a year for life winner.”

A lifelong Delaware resident, the woman said she has been playing the Delaware Lottery since its inception in 1975. She prefers to select her LUCKY FOR LIFE® numbers using Quick Pick, and usually purchases two tickets at a time.

“I’ve been having fun with Draw Games for quite some time,” the woman said. “It’s always exciting to see what you can win.” She said that she was “elated” when she checked her numbers and realized she had won $25,000 a year for life.

When asked what she intended to do with her winnings, the woman said she plans to invest some of the money and put the rest into savings. “I feel very blessed,” the woman added.

The winning numbers from the December 3, 2022 drawing were 01, 07, 13, 30 and 40. The LUCKY BALL® number was 03. LUCKY FOR LIFE® tickets cost $2 per game, and drawings are held every day at 10:38 PM EST.

The woman claimed her prize from Lottery Headquarters on December 7, 2022.
