Middletown woman claims first $300,000 MORE SERIOUS MONEY top prize

Dover, DE — A 36-year-old woman from Middletown had a lucky feeling while visiting Smith’s Liquors on Summit Bridge Road in Townsend, so she decided to purchase some Instant Game tickets. One of those tickets was for the Instant Game MORE SERIOUS MONEY, and that lucky ticket made her the game’s first $300,000 top prize winner.

“We couldn’t ask for a better way to start 2023 than celebrating a six-figure Instant Game win,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to the player who scratched the lucky ticket.”

The woman said she has been playing the Delaware Lottery since 2011. She usually purchases two Instant Game tickets at a time, but on this particular occasion, she purchased five. “It was just a spur of the moment decision,” the woman said. “I was shocked when I realized how much I had won. My husband was pretty shocked too.”

The woman said she’s taking her time when it comes to deciding what to do with her winnings. “I’m not in a rush,” the woman said, “but I’m very excited.”

While this lucky player has already claimed her prize, two $300,000 top prizes still remain for the $30 price point Instant Game MORE SERIOUS MONEY, as well as ten $10,000 prizes. To find a Delaware Lottery retailer near you, please visit: Where To Buy | Delaware Lottery.

The woman claimed her prize from Lottery Headquarters on January 19, 2023.
