Newark man wins $100,000 playing 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Dover, DE — A 67-year-old man from Newark is celebrating a huge win after claiming a $100,000 prize from the 50TH ANNIVERSARY Instant Game. The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farms #161 on Pulaski Highway in Bear.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, has been a loyal Delaware Lottery player since 2012 and typically purchases two tickets at a time. He discovered his big win while scratching the ticket and said his first reaction was simple and heartfelt: “Thank you, God.”
He hasn't told anyone about the win yet, preferring to keep the news private for now. He plans to use the money to pay off bills.
“It’s always exciting to celebrate big wins with our players. Meeting them in person, seeing their reaction and sharing in their joy is great to experience, especially as we mark our 50th Anniversary this year,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery.
The Delaware Lottery 50th Anniversary Instant Game gives players the chance to win up to $1,000,000, with two top prizes still available.
