Frankford man wins $25,000 PLAY 5® prize
Dover, DE — A 76-year-old man from Frankford is celebrating a $25,000 win from the June 30, 2025, PLAY 5® night drawing. He purchased the winning ticket at Savannah Liquors, located at 32175 South Dupont Highway in Dagsboro.
The longtime player, who began playing the Delaware Lottery in 1974—the very year it was founded—said he still plays simply for the enjoyment of it. After checking his ticket, he was surprised to learn he had won $25,000.
“I’ve been playing for 50 years, and I just enjoy it,” he said. “Winning is the cherry on top.”
The winning numbers from the June 30 PLAY 5® night drawing were 3, 2, 1, 4, and 9. The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on July 1, 2025.
“It’s always special when a loyal player gets a big win,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “This story speaks to the fun of the game and the excitement that can come with it—whether it's your first year playing or your 50th.”
