Harrington man wins $100,000 Powerball® prize
Dover, DE — A 61-year-old man from Harrington is celebrating a $100,000 Powerball® win after 35 years of playing the Delaware Lottery. He purchased the lucky ticket at Midway Discount Liquors, located at 1000 Midway Drive, Suite #5 in Harrington.
The longtime player, who began purchasing tickets in 1990 and typically plays three times a week, said this marks his first-ever lottery win. His wife was the first person he shared the good news with.
“It was a great surprise,” he said. “This win brings my wife and I more financial stability.”
“This kind of story is what makes Powerball so exciting,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “It’s incredibly rewarding when we see long-time players hit a six-figure prize, especially when the winner has been playing for more than three decades.”
The winning numbers from the July 9 drawing were 05, 09, 25, 28 and 69. The Powerball® number was 05, and the Power Play number was 2X. The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on July 14, 2025. <
