Philadelphia Man Wins $50,000 Playing Delaware Lottery’s 50th Anniversary Instant Game

Dover, DE — Michael Toth, a 29-year-old 9-1-1 dispatcher from Philadelphia, is celebrating a $50,000 payday after playing The Delaware Lottery 50th Anniversary Instant Game.

Michael started playing the Delaware Lottery about five years ago and his interest in the games began as a tradition passed down by his grandmother.

“I usually play when I’m feeling lucky, and something told me to buy a ticket that day,” Toth said. “When I scratched it and saw I had won, I was overwhelmed, I actually had tears of joy. This win means I can finally pay off some bills, finish paying off my car, and even give a little to charity. It was a total surprise.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Market Place, located at 630 Northwest Front Street in Milford, Delaware.

"Meeting winners like Michael makes the work we do even more enjoyable," said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. "Hearing his story, learning about his family ‘s connection to our games and how he plans on paying it forward with his winnings really resonated with us. We wish Michael all the best."

Toth claimed his prize at Delaware Lottery Headquarters on July 22, 2025.
