Townsend Woman Wins $300,000 Playing Delaware Lottery’s Win Big Instant Game
Dover, DE — A 66-year-old woman from Townsend is celebrating a major win after claiming a $300,000 top prize from the Delaware Lottery’s Win Big Instant Game. She purchased her winning ticket at Wawa #830, located at 5632 DuPont Parkway in Smyrna, and claimed her prize at Lottery Headquarters on October 27, 2025.
The retired Delaware native has been playing for about ten years, enjoying both draw and instant games “for fun and to win.” She typically purchases about five tickets at a time, preferring newer games with larger prize opportunities. Though she’s had smaller wins in the past, this is her biggest by far. When she realized she had won, her first reaction was to double, and even triple check, the ticket to be sure.
She plans to use her winnings for savings and to help pay down bills, saying the prize will make things “a lot more comfortable” for her and her spouse in retirement.
“It’s wonderful to see a longtime player take home a prize that will make a real difference in her life. We’re thrilled for her and wish her all the best as she enjoys this big win in her retirement,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery.
The $30 Win Big Instant Game offers players the chance to win prizes up to $300,000 instantly. There are still 2 Top Prizes of $300,000 available for Win Big and 3 $300,000 Top Prizes in our other $30 game, Cash King. Tickets are available statewide at Delaware Lottery retailers.
