Rehoboth Man Wins $12,000 Playing KENO®
Dover, DE — George Covill, III of Rehoboth has claimed a $12,000 prize from the Delaware Lottery after playing KENO®. The winning ticket was purchased at Nicola’s Pizza, located at 17323 Ocean One Plaza in Lewes, DE. Covill claimed his prize on January 2, 2026. The winning KENO® draw took place on December 23, 2025.
Covill, a self-contractor, shared that he has been playing the Delaware Lottery for about five years for fun and typically purchases around 20 tickets at a time. For this winning ticket, he selected his own numbers, using birthdays and other significant dates, and matched nine out of ten numbers.
He said he only buys tickets when visiting Nicola’s Pizza. Covill discovered he had won by scanning the ticket and said he was initially shocked and even unsure that the win was real. Friends who were with him at the time were the first to share in the exciting news. Covill plans to place his winnings into savings.
“George’s story is a great example of how players make KENO® their own, from choosing meaningful numbers to sticking with a favorite location,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “We’re thrilled to celebrate his win and remind all of our players to keep the fun in playing by doing so responsibly.”
KENO® drawings are held every 3.5 minutes from 6:04 AM to 1:04 AM, seven days a week. Players select up to 10 numbers from a field of 80 and can watch the results live at participating locations. KENO® is available at licensed Delaware Lottery retailers statewide.
