New Castle Man Wins $20,000 Playing 20X THE CELEBRATION
Dover, DE — A 41-year-old New Castle man is celebrating a $20,000 win after playing 20X THE CELEBRATION. Wayne Dunford, Jr. purchased his winning ticket at Tobacco Outlet, located at 2070 New Castle Avenue in New Castle, and claimed his prize at Delaware Lottery headquarters on January 20, 2026.
Dunford, who works as a 3D printer assembler, said he has been playing Delaware Lottery games for about five years, typically stopping by his local retailer for a ticket just for fun.
When Dunford realized he had a winning ticket, he was on the phone with his wife and said his reaction was a joyful giggle as the excitement set in and he began to process the moment. Dunford plans to use his winnings to help purchase a truck and said the prize will provide added financial stability for his family after facing a challenging period.
“Moments like this are especially meaningful when a win comes at the right time,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “We’re happy to see Wayne enjoy this experience while continuing to play responsibly and for fun.”
