Newark Man Wins $25,000 Playing PLAY 5® Night Draw
Dover, DE — A 66-year-old man from Newark is celebrating a $25,000 win after matching all five numbers in the Delaware Lottery’s PLAY 5® Night Draw. The winner purchased his ticket at BP, located at 91 University Plaza in Newark and claimed his prize at Delaware Lottery headquarters on March 19, 2026.
The winning numbers for the March 18, 2026 drawing were 3, 2, 5, 5, and 9.
A retired Delaware native, the winner has been playing the Lottery since 1980 and typically purchases just one ticket at a time. He selects his own numbers using birthdates that are meaningful to him and enjoys playing for entertainment.
He discovered his win by checking the numbers on his phone and said he was shocked when he realized he had matched all five numbers. He plans to use the prize money to pay off credit cards and live more comfortably.
“It’s always special to see a longtime player win, especially when they play using numbers that hold personal meaning,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “We’re happy this prize will help bring added comfort, and we remind all players to enjoy Lottery games responsibly.”
PLAY 5® is a daily draw game offering players the chance to win up to $50,000 twice a day, with drawings held at 1:58 PM and 7:57 PM. Players can find PLAY 5® and other exciting draw games at Delaware Lottery retailers statewide.
