(DOVER, Del.) — A 65-year-old retired teacher won $10,000 before taxes by matching four numbers and the MEGA BALL® on the January 1st MEGA MILLIONS® drawing. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased two Quick Pick tickets from Super G #387 in Rehoboth.

The man says he enjoys playing draw games, especially when the jackpots get high, and has been playing the Delaware Lottery for a few years.

When the man checked his numbers on January 2nd, he was very surprised to see that he had won. “I was shocked,” the man said. “I had to check the numbers a few times to make sure.”

The man, who will take home $7,600 after taxes, immediately told his wife about the big win.

When asked what he was planning to do with his winnings, the man said he is putting it into savings for the time being.

Smyrna Woman Calls Her Big Win a “Christmas Miracle”

(DOVER, Del.) — A 58-year-old rehabilitation nurse stopped at the Royal Farms in Smyrna to purchase MULTI-WIN LOTTO tickets on her way home from work. The woman chose her own numbers for one of the lines, and used Quick Pick for the other two. The one she selected ended up matching all six numbers – winning her $304,007 before taxes.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, says she usually plays MULTI-WIN LOTTO at the same location every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on her way home from work, and has been playing the Delaware Lottery for about 35 years.

Though the drawing was held on Christmas Eve, the woman didn’t realize she had won until Christmas morning. “I woke up around 4am and went to the computer to check the numbers,” the woman said. “I couldn’t believe it!”

After taxes, the woman will end up taking home $231,045, and when asked what she was planning on doing with her winnings, the woman said she planned on making no sudden moves and wanted to “Take a breath and think about it.”

“Just to know I don’t have debt anymore, it’s like a rock has come off of me,” she said.

Smyrna Man wins $15,000

(DOVER, Del.) — A 62-year-old man purchased four instant tickets, including a Double Sided Dollars Instant Game when he stopped at the Gas & Go in Smyrna, Delaware. He left the gas station a $15,000 winner.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said he enjoys playing a variety of Instant Games when he’s “feeling lucky”.

“I was scratching it (Double Sided Dollars Instant Game) while pumping gas after I bought it,” the man said. After seeing he had won, he returned inside to make sure he was holding one of the game’s top-prize tickets.

Once he realized he had won $15,000, the man said he felt “absolutely numb” because it was such a surprise.

When asked how his win would change his life, the man said, “It will allow me to help others more.”

Maryland Man Makes a Very Lucky Stop

(DOVER, Del.) — A 59-year-old truck driver from Maryland, who routinely comes to Delaware for work, purchased a $25,000 Cashtastic Instant Game ticket at Wawa #852 on N. DuPont Highway in New Castle. That ticket ended up being one of the $25,000 top prize winners.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said he often plays Instant Games and KENO® when he comes to Delaware.

(DOVER, Del.) — A 33-year-old Wyoming woman who just began playing Instant Games one month ago already has her first big win. A Very Lucky Week for One Millsboro Woman

(DOVER, Del.) — Stephanie Robinson enjoys playing Instant Games every week at Weis Market #273 in Millville. She normally purchases two $5 tickets every week, but when one of those ended up being a $250 winner, she decided to purchase two WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET Instant Games. Dover Man Wins $50,000

(DOVER, Del.) — A 55-year-old, retired man purchased various Instant Game tickets from Larry’s Liquors on DuPont Highway in Dover this past Saturday. Two of the Instant Game tickets he purchased were 50X the bucks – and one of those ended up being a $50,000 winning ticket.

The Dover native, who wished to remain anonymous, said he usually plays $10 Instant Games a few times a week and that he also enjoys draw games. “I’m retired now, and this is my hobby. I’m trying to win the big one,” the man said.

The man found out he had one of the top-prize winning 50X the bucks tickets before he even left the store. “I was scratching in the store…then I saw $50,000 and stopped scratching,” the man said. “I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe that I won.”

Dover Woman wins $10,000 in Power Payout Drawing

(DOVER, Del.) — Cynthia Wills and her fiancé purchased about 85 POWERBALL® tickets throughout the month of October as the jackpot continued to rise. Though they didn’t win the POWERBALL® jackpot, one of their non-winning tickets was drawn in the POWER PAYOUT Second-Chance Drawing on November 13 – turning that non-winning ticket into a $10,000 winner before taxes.

Since moving to Delaware 14 years ago, Wills and her fiancé have enjoyed playing Delaware Lottery Draw and Instant Games, as well as second-chance promotions like POWER PAYOUT, POWER CRUISE and the WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET BILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE.

Third $50,000 Winner from October POWERBALL® Drawing Claims Prize

(DOVER, Del.) — A 56-year-old woman from New Castle claimed her prize two weeks after the drawing. Her ticket was the third $50,000 POWERBALL® winning ticket in Delaware from the October 27th drawing. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from the Shop Rite in Governor’s Square Shopping Center in Bear.

The woman, who has been playing the Lottery for 25 years, uses a combination of birthdays and anniversaries to choose her numbers. She ended up matching four numbers and the POWERBALL® to take home $38,000 after taxes.

“I knew someone had hit the jackpot, so I didn’t check (the ticket right away),” the woman said. She finally checked her ticket on November 9, when she stopped for gas. “I was in shock,” the woman said when she learned that she had won.

Pennsylvania Man Claims Sports Pick $100,000 Parlay Card

(DOVER, Del.) — Second time’s the charm for a Pennsylvania man, who won $100,000 before taxes on a Sports Pick $100,000 Parlay Card purchased at Delaware Park Casino. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, correctly picked all 15 games on his parlay card and will take home $76,000 after taxes.

“I looked at their (teams) records and picked accordingly,” the man said about how he chose the teams. This was only his second time playing Sports Pick.

“I was very surprised,” the man said when he learned that he had won. “I scanned the ticket in Delaware Park. It said I had won but that the ticket was on hold.”

Heading into Monday night’s game, there were four other open tickets – all of which had picked Dallas to cover the spread on Monday night. With Dallas losing outright, the man became the sole winner of the $100,000 Parlay Card.

When asked what he planned on doing with his winnings, the man said he plans to share it with friends and family. “I’m happy to help friends and donate some to charity.”

Retired Wilmington Man Wins $10,000

(DOVER, Del.) — A 72-year-old man, who has been playing the Delaware Lottery for the last twenty years, got a big win playing $250 GRAND. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at Convenient Store on West 9th St. in Wilmington.

The man said he chooses which Instant Games he plays based on the top prize and enjoys playing Draw Games, as well.

The man was with his wife when he found out they had won the $10,000 prize. “We saw the dollar sign and thought it was $5,000, but then we realized it was double that amount,” the man said. “It’s a blessing.”

Pike Creek Man Claims MEGA MILLION® Winning Ticket

(DOVER, Del.) — A Pike Creek man matched four numbers and the MEGA BALL® on the October 23rd MEGA MILLIONS® drawing – winning $10,000 before taxes. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from Malin’s Market at 812 S. College Ave. in Newark.

The man was returning from a fishing trip in Virginia when he stopped into Malin’s Market to purchase a sandwich. While in line to pay, a woman in front of him purchased 10 tickets, but wanted them individually printed. The man, who already had purchased MEGA MILLIONS® tickets wasn’t planning on buying more when he arrived at the store, but offered to buy the 10 Quick Pick numbers that were printed on the same ticket.

The man, who also enjoys playing POWERBALL® was in “disbelief” that one of those Quick Pick numbers ended up being a $10,000 winner. After taxes, the man will take home $7,600.

(DOVER, Del.) — A group of thirteen coworkers each won $2,922 after taxes after they matched four numbers and the POWERBALL® in the October 27th POWERBALL® drawing. The group, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed the second $50,000 winning POWERBALL® ticket in Delaware in two days.

The group, who has been playing together for four years, purchased the winning ticket from Acme #826 in the Pike Creek Shopping Center in Wilmington.

Office Lottery Pool Gets A Big Win

(DOVER, Del.) — Twelve coworkers in Dover matched four numbers and the MEGA BALL® in the October 23rd MEGA MILLIONS® drawing to win $10,000. The group, who wished to remain anonymous each took home $633 after taxes.

Lincoln man starts holiday weekend with a big win

Coworkers Split $1,000,000 in Big POWERBALL® Win

(DOVER, Del.) — A group of 13 coworkers in Newark matched all 5 white balls on the May 2 POWERBALL® drawing, each taking home $58,461.38 after taxes. The men, who wished to remain anonymous, say they have been playing as a group for about 15 years, playing both POWERBALL® and MEGA MILLIONS®.

The men all contributed $4 and purchased 26 tickets from Books & News in Newark, DE. The man who purchased the tickets walked to the store the following day to scan the tickets. A $10,000 Win For A Millsboro Business Owner

(DOVER, Del.) — Katrina Brown is a busy woman. The 25-year-old Millsboro woman and her fiancée run two businesses and have nine kids, but she finds time to play the Delaware Lottery once or twice a month.

Winning Big is a Day at the Beach for Rehoboth Woman

(DOVER, Del.) — Almost a month after purchasing MEGA MILLIONS® tickets for the January 2 drawing, a 62-year-old retired woman from Rehoboth learns she won $10,000 before taxes.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said that her and her husband will “…get a little pile (lottery tickets) then go through and scan them.” The woman sent her husband to check a few tickets and he returned with some pretty exciting news.

“He was really excited. I was really excited,” the woman said about learning she had won by matching the four white balls plus the gold MEGABALL®, “It’s my first time winning something this large.” The woman won with a Quick Pick ticket saying, “I used to have a system (for picking numbers), but it didn’t work.” The Quick Pick worked out pretty well.

When asked what she planned on doing with the money, the woman said she would “…put some in savings, pay a bill for the house, and give some to the church.

Retired Wilmington Woman Has A $20,000 Windfall

(DOVER, Del.) — A retired Wilmington woman won big after purchasing three 20X THE MONEY Instant Game tickets after stopping to get gas at the King Star gas station on Lancaster Ave in Wilmington.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she has been playing Instant Games once or twice a week since the Delaware Lottery’s inception in 1975. “I usually pick them up when I get gas at that station, and sometimes the super market,” the woman said. As for her strategy: “I usually pick the pretty ones.”

“I scratched one, nothing. Scratched the second, nothing. Then, I won on the third,” she said adding, “I couldn’t believe it. It was like a dream.” She immediately informed her daughter and had her double check the tickets to make sure she had won. After verifying the $20,000 ticket, the woman’s daughter said, “Now she can’t say she’s never won big!”

As for what she plans on doing with her winnings, the 84-year-old said she wants to get her car fixed, then share a little with her family. When asked if she plans to keep playing the lottery, she replied, “Oh, of course!”

Delaware Bartender Ends His Shift With $25,000 Jackpot

(DOVER, Del.) — A Delaware man ended a long shift at work with a big win. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven on Elkton Road in Newark on his way home from a twelve hour shift at the bar.

(DOVER, Del.) — A 68-year-old postal worker from Millsboro woke up to some good news when her MULTI-WIN LOTTO ticket ended up being a $55,022 winner.

$50,000 POWERBALL® Payout Leaves an Office Pool Swimming in Cash

(DOVER, Del.) — A Delmar man just got a little more popular around the office after purchasing a winning POWERBALL® ticket for his office pool. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased 30 quick pick tickets for his office pool which consists of nine members.

Though they work in Maryland, the group typically purchases their tickets in Delaware. “We’ve been playing as a group for two and a half years,” the Delmar man said. “We always buy thirty tickets, always as a group.”

The man learned they had won after scanning the tickets during his lunchbreak. “I was in disbelief,” the man said when he learned he had won. “I had to keep counting the zeroes.” The man returned to work to tell everyone and texted the ones who weren’t there. “Some of them thought I was kidding but most of them felt joy and happiness.”

Delaware Man Follows His Dream and Wins $10,000

(DOVER, Del.) — James Woolbert’s dream just came true. Literally. The day after the 52-year-old dreamt of winning the lottery, Mr. Woolbert bought a $250,000 CASH Instant Game at Back Bay Tobacco on Bay Farm Road between Long Neck and Oak Orchard that won him $10,000.

A Part Time Job Leads To A $20,000 Pay Day For One Claymont Resident

(DOVER, Del.) — George Ganat may have retired, be he hasn’t stopped working. The 75-year-old man works part-time at the Naamans Beverage Mart in Claymont, DE, where he purchased a winning Keno Ticket on December, 22.

“I used the birthdays of my wife, daughter, and three granddaughters,” Ganat replied when asked how he picked the winning combination.

Mr. Ganat moved to Delaware in 1970 and has been playing the Delaware Lottery regularly since 1981.
